UPDATED APRIL 2020
*In keeping with our Mission of bringing music to Children and Adults during this time of Social Distancing, we are happy to say that we have successfully moved all of our lessons online.
We have the greatest teachers that have taken on the responsibility of shifting the way they teach and share music with our students.
Our students have been wonderful adapting to the situation and we are more than thankful that we have been able to continue to teach our lessons to both Children and Adults.
We invite you to join us on this journey if your are interested in learning a musical instrument or brushing up on an instrument you used to play. All of our teachers are local and we are proud to be able to offer our special talent to our current and new students. We are in this all together and we will get through it.
Our mission is to bring the wonderful world of music to children and adults and to create a lifelong love of music while helping them grow intellectually and physically and at the same time building self-confidence and self-esteem.
Instruments We Teach
What Everyone is Saying
For about 15 years, I wanted to learn the bass guitar. As I approach retirement, I thought I’d give it a try. As an older student, I was very nervous. My teacher is Randy Leventhal, and he is amazing! After only three months, I can play a handful of classic rock songs, and I have learned a ton about music theory. Not only is Randy extremely knowledgeable about music, but he knows how to teach. He knows how to push his students to the next level at a comfortable pace while providing constant, but not phony, encouragement. To top it off, Randy has an amazing sense of humor that helps make each lesson fun. If you have ever thought about playing the guitar, I hope you are lucky enough to get a teacher like Randy.

My son has been playing the drums at the Music Connection for a few years now and continues to enjoy lessons there because his instructor is so awesome! Peter Cohan is so great with young kids, he is always patient and kind. My son really looks up to him and we are confident that he as well as the other instructors, are great musicians and really know their stuff!

My experience at The Music Connection has been fantastic! Randy- guitar instructor was extremely patient, knowledgeable extremely talented and does an amazing job of teaching/ blending both theory and the love of music which catered to my personal preferences of wanting to learn songs. Both Darren and Randy were extremely flexible and willing to work around complex schedules! While clearly music lessons are a business- for these guys it’s a passion! Thanks for the lessons- can’t wait to pick back up again!

I’ve decided to take a few classes at the The Music Connection after doing some initial online search for a good place to learn guitar but without knowing very much about the school or the teachers. Ever since my first class with Peter I knew I made the right choice and didn’t need to look any further! Learning to play a musical instrument as an adult and a complete beginner without any prior musical training could be intimidating but Peter has helped me make this experience really rewarding and exciting. The great thing about Peter is that he combines a rare quality of being an amazing musician and a great teacher at the same time, and you can really learn a lot from him if you are putting your time into practice.

Music studios come and go. The Music Connection has been offering music lesson on the North Shore of Boston since 1995, with some of our teachers still with us from when we opened. We have had over 4000 students come through our doors with many returning and other family members taking as well. We have a proven track record and we continue to prove our mission of Connecting Minds Through Music.
With 10 teachers on staff, we make it possible for families with multiple children to have their lessons at the same time making it more convenient for you.
