For about 15 years, I wanted to learn the bass guitar. As I approach retirement, I thought I’d give it a try. As an older student, I was very nervous. My teacher is Randy Leventhal, and he is amazing! After only three months, I can play a handful of classic rock songs, and I have learned a ton about music theory. Not only is Randy extremely knowledgeable about music, but he knows how to teach. He knows how to push his students to the next level at a comfortable pace while providing constant, but not phony, encouragement. To top it off, Randy has an amazing sense of humor that helps make each lesson fun. If you have ever thought about playing the guitar, I hope you are lucky enough to get a teacher like Randy.

My experience at The Music Connection has been fantastic! Randy- guitar instructor was extremely patient, knowledgeable extremely talented and does an amazing job of teaching/ blending both theory and the love of music which catered to my personal preferences of wanting to learn songs. I’ve decided to take a few classes at the The Music Connection after doing some initial online search for a good place to learn guitar but without knowing very much about the school or the teachers. Ever since my first class with Peter I knew I made the right choice and didn’t need to look any further! Learning to play a musical instrument as an adult and a complete beginner without any prior musical training could be intimidating but Peter has helped me make this experience really rewarding and exciting. The great thing about Peter is that he combines a rare quality of being an amazing musician and a great teacher at the same time, and you can really learn a lot from him if you are putting your time into practice.
